WHAT IS THERAPY LIKE?

Therapy is simply a conversation between client and professional.  It is NOT like most of what you see on TV or in movies.  The first session with a client lasts an hour and we go through your hopes for therapy, current difficulties as well as any relevant personal or family history.  Subsequent sessions will be 45 minutes in duration and will be scheduled on a weekly or bi-weekly basis depending on your presenting issues and scheduling needs.  Prior to your first session you will be asked to log into the client portal and submit information that will help us get started.  

Do you take my insurance?  

We do not participate with insurance panels.  Payment is accepted in cash, check, HSA/FSA or credit card. Payment is due at the time of your appointment. It may be possible to take advantage of your insurance company's Out-of-Network benefits.  After attending and paying for your session, we can provide you with a "Superbill"/receipt to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.  To learn more about what your insurance company will reimburse, call the member services number on the back of your card.  

Some of the therapist bios say “pre-licensed”. What does that mean?

do you only work with women and moms?

A Pre-Licensed therapist is someone who has completed their master’s program in a therapy related field, but is working toward obtaining their full licensure. These therapists work under close clinical supervision, which is a benefit to the client as you have two clinical minds assisting with your case! In addition rates when working with these therapists is a little lower, which can assist with the cost of treatment.

No.  Although our our main specialty area is Women’s Mental Health, we carry diverse caseloads of clients including men or women who are not mothers.

where are you located?  do you have parking?

Our office is located in Syracuse at 1807 West Genesee Street, in the Tipp Hill area. Parking is located in the rear of the building and clients enter through the side door from the driveway.
